Ways to Say “Thank You”
We, as creators, need our readers, customers and followers. Let’s face it, if we didn’t have them we would not be the business owners we are today. So, here are some ways to say tell them ‘thank you’ and that we appreciate them in our journey to become the best we can be.
Common Ways
When thinking of ways to thank your readers, customers, and followers, there are some that always come to mind. From a search to just taking a moment to think, these are the things that you would find turning up again and again.
Acknowledgement Page
To show your appreciation and to thank them properly, add them to your acknowledgement page in your book, on your site or within your social media (but more on that below). You can either mention each by name (if you have a few that have encouraged you or provided feedback recently) or as a whole.
Social Media Shout Out
Give them a Shout out on your social media profiles with tags so they can see how much you appreciate them and wouldn’t be where you are without them. You could also do a group thank you as a whole so everyone is included in your appreciation and gratitude.
Offer a Special Deal
What better way to say ‘Thank you’ than to give those readers a special deal on your books, product, or whatever! Give them a coupon, link to a free item, or discount on a course. They will love it!!
Throw a Thank You Party
In Person
Throw a ‘Thank You’ party and invite your peeps to join for the festivities. Partner with vendors who will offer free samples/makeovers/or whatever to make the event even more special for them. Give out your ‘John Hancock’ as a special gift!
Online
Create an online ‘Thank You’ party where you can do giveaways, hand out freebies, and offer a chance to win prizes through participation in games or comments.
Give a Personalized Note
Want to create a more personal ‘Thank you’? Give them a personal note from you to them. Send it in the mail and imagine their surprise when receiving something special from you! Besides everyone loves ‘snail mail’!
Send a Digital Thank You Card
Looking for something a little easier, but still personal? Create and send a digital ‘Thank you’ where you can edit the recipient and hit send.
Create a Thank You YouTube Video
Say thank you to your readers in person. Well, sort of. Create a ‘Thank you’ video to your readers and post it to Youtube, then link it to your social media for all your readers to view.
Teach Your Crew Something New
Go the extra mile and create content or product that will teach them something new about you, your niche, or industry. You may just encourage another to take the next step in their career! What could be more rewarding?
Giveaways and Freebies
Offer something for free to your readers that they will find useful, helpful, or just something fun!
Uncommon Ways
To give you a few more options, here are some less common ways to say thank you.
Poll Charity and Donate
If you want to donate to a charity, but are having difficulty choosing which one, create a poll and let your followers decide which one to donate too.
Provide a Game like a Treasure Hunt or Escape Room
I, for one, love treasure hunts and escape rooms. If you think your followers would enjoy something like that, you could create one for your followers to participate in.
Create Customer Focused Swag
Offer items for your customers and followers that focus on them. Mugs that state they are number one or a plaque that says they are the best. For those that are true followers, they will love items that state they are your number one fan/follower/customer.
Send Them Your Favorite Treat
If you are so inclined, you can send them a sample of your favorite treat to enjoy as you do. What better way to share something you love than sending a treat they could also love as well!
Final Thoughts
Really, all you need to do to say thank you to anyone who has influenced you or you appreciate for something they’ve down for your, is to just use your words and tell them. It’s the easiest way and they know you are grateful for their contribution, no matter what it is.
Do you have some other ways to tell your customers/followers ‘Thank You’? Share them below! I would love to learn more ways and to add more to this list for others to gain ideas from.
