Sip Coffee House and Artisan Cafe
Highland, IN
We had the pleasure of visiting Sip Coffee House and Artisan Cafe, a very vibrant cafe in Highland last month. The experience was amazing.
Setting and Atmosphere
The Sip Coffee House and Artisan Cafe is set in a small strip mall off of Jewett Ave, the location gives this cafe an open welcoming feel. With ample seating inside and outdoors to serve and accommodate single patrons to small groups, they’ve got a great place with a welcoming feel.
The artistic interior with local artists painting littering the walls and a hodgepodge of chairs, tables, and couches for a comfortable homey feel as you relax with your tea or coffee.
We especially loved the stack of board games customers can play as they enjoy their coffee/tea and delicious food. The Chalkboard menu of drinks on the back wall has a creative artsy feel to match the artwork on the walls and the quirky names for their drinks and menu items add a little flare to the place.
The sound of conversation and good times of making amazing memories can be heard throughout the cafe.
Staff and Employees
The staff was fantastic, friendly, and polite, welcoming us upon entering the establishment. Even when frazzled they kept a level head and a smile on their face. We enjoyed conversing with them about our day as they took our order. It’s always nice to interact with workers who seem to enjoy their job and are polite to customers.
Outdoors
On warmer days, patrons are welcome to enjoy the outdoor space provided with tables and chairs. Although there is not a ton of seating outside. They still provide a wonderful atmosphere and friendly service. An atmosphere for anyone looking to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, converse with friends or family and have a great time.
Food and Drinks
They have a pretty extensive variety of coffee and tea drinks to satisfy anyone’s needs for caffeine as well as non-caffeinated drinks.
Sip has a variety of dishes for your to try along with some amazing sweet treats. We were happy to see a few vegetarian meals. We tried The Nate Sandwich (Red pepper, Hummus, Cucumber, tomato, Spinach and Swiss Cheese on Grilled Rustic Bread), The Scrambler Breakfast (Scrambled Eggs, Ham, Swiss Cheese, Cheddar Cheese, Mayo, onion, and Pepperoncinis) and a giant cookie we split for dessert. The drinks we tried were the Cookie Dough Latte and the Turtle Latte. I apparently hate anything that takes remotely like coffee so I ended up having a Peach tea, which my daughter and I come here to get all the time, it’s fabulous and my sister ended up drink both our latte’s.
Everything was delicious, a little messy, but delicious. We did walk home and ate our cookie on the way.
Final Thoughts
Overall we found the Sip Coffee House and Artisan Cafe to be a very vibrant atmosphere and enjoyed just hanging out with good food and great company.
We would definitely recommend the Sip Coffe House and Artisan Cafe to anyone looking for great food and drinks and a friendly atmosphere.
