Coffee Mill Cafe

Fontana-on-the-Lake, WI

We had the pleasure of visiting a very rustic cafe in Fontana a few weeks ago. The experience was fantastic.

Setting and Atmosphere

Set at the back of the building, the location gives this cafe an almost hidden and private feel. With ample space to serve and accommodate anything from single patrons to larger groups, they’ve got a great place with a welcoming feel, not to mention the scent of good drinks the moment you walk through the door!

The rustic interior with wood accents, wood tables, counter, shelves, trim and beams give the area an open barn feel with plenty of natural light through large windows that overlook the fountain and garden.

We especially loved the small accents they’ve added to create a unique atmsphere. All of the lights had either a wire basket or an old tea kettle as the lampshade. It’s a small thing, but we love the little added touches.

Music added to the final touch of the atmosphere of the cafe. Though it wasn’t what we would have chosen, it wasn’t overbearing or obnoxious in any way that we didn’t enjoy our time there.

Staff and Employees

The staff were extremely friendly and polite, welcoming us as we entered the building. We enjoyed conversing with them as we told them our order. It’s always nice to interact with workers who seem to enjoy their job and are polite to customers.

Outdoors

On warmer days, patrons are welcome to enjoy the outdoor space provided with tables and chairs. I’ve even seen small fire pits on colder days to heat up by if you like to keep to the outside space. There is an atmosphere for anyone looking to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, relax or get some work done away from home or the office.

Food and Drinks

They have a pretty large variety of coffee drinks to satisfy anyone’s needs for caffeine as well as teas.

Turtle Mocha, Hot Peach Blossom Tea, Cranberry Muffin, Vegan Cookie

Though they don’t have much for munchies. I was pleasantly surprised to find they had a few vegan options for cookies, muffins, and brownies along with their dairy counterparts. We tried their vegan cookie, which I really enjoyed, a cranberry muffin, a turtle mocha, and a hot peach blossom tea.

All were quite delicious, but we did end up taking some home so our kids could try them. Though they stay home, they love trying new things.

Final Thoughts

Overall we found the Coffee Mill to be a very pleasant atmosphere and enjoyed getting some work done without our children interrupting every few minutes.

We would definitely recommend the Coffee Mill to anyone looking for a great atmosphere or great drinks and a place to have some peace or get some work done.
