    Is Your Story Real?

One of the best parts of the weekends is sitting down to spend time with my family and last weekend was no different, except we decide to do a Hobbit/LOTR (extended versions) marathon, which fried my eyes by watching TV for two days straight, but it was totally worth it! Let me tell you why: Relaxation: With the Holidays at an end, we are still feeling the fatigue of the run around. Next week I will be traveling back and fourth to my sisters house which is two hours one way to watch her kids, then back again to watch them again two weeks after. So, we decided to do…

Yep, I am offering a New beginning – short story for free! Now, this is in the beginning stages, but I would love your thoughts and heads up… there is a cliffhanger at the end since it leads into my Conquer Series books. How Writing is Like a Puzzle

I received the best birthday gift from my husband last month and after putting it together I thought about how it relates to writing. Obviously, from the title you would guess what it is my husband got me, but you’re probably thinking, “Really, Kelly? You couldn’t possibly be that excited over a puzzle.” Well, I am about to prove you wrong. This wasn’t just any puzzle. It was a 1000 piece Sherlock Holmes and the Speckled Band – A mystery jigsaw puzzle. This was the best gift because for one, I love Sherlock Holmes and two, not only was it a puzzle; it contained the story and required you to…

Since the end of the year is coming faster than we would like, I thought I would let you all know what lessons I’ve learn this year. They say you learn something new every day, whether it’s something small or something big and you may not realize you did learn anything, but I bet you did. There are no affiliate links contained within this post. All opinions are my own and I provide the links to the curious and the readers who are looking to find something helpful within their lives and businesses.  Below are some areas of my life and what I learned this past year within those areas: Home…

    Traditions Make Seasons Exceptional

Traditions Traditions have built our nation and our lives to be what they are today. If you ask anyone you walk up to if they have a tradition, I bet they could name at least one if not more traditions their families participate in. Let’s dive in a bit deeper, shall we? What are they? The Dictionary explains Traditions as long-standing or transmission of customs or beliefs from one generation to another. To give or hand over for safekeeping. Reasons for Traditions Language The languages we speak or learn to speak are passed down from generation to generation. It’s a part of our heritage, something to keep alive from ages past.…

Life Happens… That’s When We Need To Adjust

It is alway disappointing when you have to decide one of your goals/deadlines must be pushed out further than expected. Life it seems has gotten in the way of things for the last few weeks. Now I am trying to get back into the swing of things which hasn’t been easy. Let me explain: The last week of July and into August I was down helping my sister with a Day Camp she helps run for Boy Scouts. The weekend after I returned I spend three days with the rest of my sisters. Going to the fair, A night with Tony at the park, and watching the meteor shower on…

Accomplishments… and not one but TWO surprises!

There is nothing better than being able to accomplish something you have spent years working to complete. My journey as an author has been just that… a journey for many, many years and the first book I began writing on has been a work in progress for the last fifteen years. (On and off, of course.) I say journey because it has been one long adventure with ups, downs and everything in between.    My dream of becoming a writer was put on the wayside, as many things do, when life got in the way. As the years past I found my passion in telling stories of the brave who…

Forge On… Keep striving, moving, climbing!

There are times in our lives when things feel as though they could not possibly get any worse, but then you spoke to soon and they do. Or you feel like your day could not get any better and then one event creates a catastrophic down turn of events. We experienced that about a month ago when our family went walking our dog. My husband and I got up to realize our children had let us sleep in and by the time we came down stairs they had eaten, got dressed and had finished all of their chores with no arguments. We had been taking family walks daily since my…
